Social space as seen from a woman’s perspective in Tehran is the focus of Negar Tahsili’s documentary film. Wee-men or Women?! follows a female taxi driver around town — potential or perceived dangers of public transportation for women traveling alone are discussed along the way with the driver who works for the company that offers its services to female passengers only. Concurrently, self-defense courses for women are featured. At the surprise ending of the film, neither special transportation nor self-defense preparedness can protect the protagonists from a sudden attack.
