Turnings belongs to a body of work around the idea of opposing forces and embodiment of dynamics. Movements continue to the point where balance is achieved and the opposing forces can control each other. Performance is also dependent on this dynamics as part of the playful interaction between forces. There is an element of chance involved in the process which keeps the result uncertain, as it is impossible to predict when the action will end. The whole setting therefore is similar to a game while it also implies a narrative which can be perceived through various elements in the scene and their metaphoric connotations.
